I started a project to clean my dryer vent on my own since I try to be as cost effective as I can. It was taking in upward of 4-6 hours to dry a load of towels. SO, ran to Lowe’s and bought a vent kit and jammed that auger and 12 feet of pole up the vent from outside. I used my gutless power drill to spin the auger, only to get a couple powerful turns and pulled it out. JOB DONE! I could not believe the build up that I had dislodged and pulled out. I ran inside and hooked up the vent from the back of the dryer to the wall and went outside to confirm the vent was blowing out. Much too my disappointment, it smelled as if my house was on fire and NO AIRFLOW. Disgusted with myself, I crawled in my crawl space to see if I had pushed to hard on the auger brush and possibly disconnected the piping. I found the pipe to be 100% intact. I tried one last time to auger through the clog and failed. I then began the big search and stumbled on “home adviser” and it shot out my information to “dryer vent cleaning” companies. Travis (owner) called me the next morning and gave me a NO “BS” cost of $125. I received a few other responses of prices in excess of $200. I know the ole’ saying goes “you get what you pay for”. BUT Travis also picked up the phone and called me, like a real person and no automated AL or e-mails etc. A good old fashion phone call. He scheduled me the next day and like clockwork he and his sidekick showed up and took care of business. I was hoping that they would not have to endure the wrath of the crawl space, but unfortunately, they did and the clog they pulled out was solid on top of the residual they pushed outside. I could not believe the difference in the sound and the pressure of the airflow. I am looking forward to lower energy bill and load of towels drying fasted and efficiently. AND I got so much more than what I paid for. The service and professionalism is top notch.
